Instructions: Error Analysis Module

Helping your mentee work through why students make mistakes and how to use formative assessment to understand what the students know and what they can do is essential in this day and age of education.  You will read/view some information regarding how to help your mentee analyze errors.  This should take about an hour.  When you are done submit the reflection and you will receive one hour towards your mentor certification.

  • Read the following article on Error Analysis

  • Look at the worksheet on 5 Questions for Error Analysis

  • Watch the following RBT video on Error Analysis: Here

Reflection: After watching the video and reading the article please write up a one-page reflection (12 point font, double space) that addresses the following questions:
Reflecting upon your own practice, what is your reaction to the video/reading?
How could you use this strategy to help your mentee grow as an educator?
