Combating Feelings of Isolation
Objective: Some teachers in your building are the only teacher of their subject matter, some may be the only teacher of that subject in the district! How do you deal with working a new job (with all its challenges) while at the same time fighting the nagging feeling that no one understands what it is that you do or how you do it? The following articles can help you gain perspective:

Reflection:
After viewing and reading over the resources please write up a one-page reflection (12 point font, double spaced) and submit it below. The reflection should deal with the following questions
- Who else in your building teaches only singleton classes?
- Where in the school could you get out and share your other interests with staff and students?
- Identify and list strategies that you can use to help your new educator when they are dealing with feelings of isolation.
