Warm Up: Watch the brief video entitled, Teacher Talk: Advice for 1st Year Teachers. The video is only 2:02.
Agenda:
- Watch the following video, What is PBIS? The entire video is about 10 minutes long as it is broken up by elementary, middle, and high school. It is important to watch the whole video as you will develop a better understanding of PBIS and can see how students in Attleboro will be engaged in PBIS for their entire K-12 education.
- Much of the PBIS program will be the same school wide, however, you as the classroom teacher will have the opportunity to decide upon your own, unique classroom rewards. Read the list of classroom rewards and add to (using a different color font) and/or delete what you think will work/won’t work in your classroom! Make sure to check out the staff rewards as well, and make any additions and/or deletions. Turn in this document so that an overall list can be compiled among mentees in Attleboro. You should devote about 15 minutes for this task.
